IPT Launches “IPT Forest” at Barouk Shouf Biosphere Reserve: 1,000 Cedars for Lebanon’s Future.
IPT launched the “IPT Forest” initiative, planting 1,000 cedar trees in the Barouk Shouf Biosphere Reserve to promote biodiversity, carbon absorption, and environmental resilience in line with its ESG commitment.

Lebanon’s national symbol is taking root again in Barouk. IPT officially launched the “IPT Forest,” planting 1,000 cedar trees in the Barouk Shouf Biosphere Reserve, an initiative that stands as a symbol of the company’s Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) commitment and its dedication to SDG 13: Climate Action and SDG 15: Life on Land.
The project, led by Mr. Michel Issa, Founder of IPT, Dr. Toni M. Issa, Executive Chairman of Issa Group, and Mr. Zakhia Issa, Chairman of IPT Group, alongside Minister of Agriculture Mr. Nizar Hani, represents a strategic milestone in IPT’s broader sustainability roadmap.
By restoring part of Lebanon’s cedar habitat, the IPT Forest will contribute directly to carbon absorption, biodiversity protection, and long-term climate resilience. It also supports IPT’s Carbon Footprint Measurement program, reinforcing the company’s data-driven approach to environmental action and measurable emission reduction.
“Lebanon belongs to all of us. It is our responsibility to make it greener and to act now for sustainability and climate action,” said Dr. Toni M. Issa. “We start with 1,000 trees, but this is only the beginning. The IPT Forest will continue to grow, year after year.”
Minister Nizar Hani saluted the initiative, emphasizing that “the private sector is an essential partner in building a sustainable Lebanon. IPT’s project is a model for responsible growth and environmental leadership.”
The IPT Forest reflects IPT’s mission to link energy progress with environmental responsibility, translating its ESG strategy into tangible results that benefit both people and planet.
For IPT, sustainability is not a campaign. It is a legacy, and with every cedar planted, that legacy grows stronger.
