A real energy transformation becomes an academic case IPT’s evolution is now being studied in business schools Energy

Titled “Can a Family-Owned Fuel Company in the Middle East Lead in the Age of Sustainability?”, the newly developed teaching case examines how IPT repositioned itself from a traditional fuel distributor to an integrated energy group guided by governance and long-term strategy.
The case was developed by Professor Thami Ghorfi, President of ESCA School of Management and Professor Nada Naufal, governance expert affiliated with the Rami F. Makhzoumi Corporate Governance Initiative. It was first presented at the Casablanca Climate Leadership Forum and is now part of executive education discussions.
In a dedicated session held at IPT Headquarters in the presence of Dr. Toni M. Issa, IPT Executive Chairman, the development of the case was explored to showcase the academic attendance a practical example of how governance can drive structural transformation within the energy sector. The study shows how leadership decisions and governance frameworks enabled IPT to align with evolving sustainability expectations while reinforcing operational resilience.
By opening its journey to academic examination, IPT affirms a clear commitment: responsible energy leadership requires transparency, structure, and the courage to evolve.
